Stop Destruction Of Properties, Afenifere, Ohaneze Tell Thugs

Afenifere and Ohaneze Ndigbo have called on thugs to cease the looting and destruction of properties in parts of the country. The group condemned the wanton destruction of governments’ properties and looting of businesses of private individuals in states like Lagos, Kwara and Ondo states. In a joint statement by Chief R. F Fasoranti, Afenifere leader; and Chief John Nnia Nwodo, Ohanaeze President-General, the groups also commiserated with the families of the victims of the Lekki killings that occurred on Tuesday night. Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has eased curfew in the state. The governor said this was done to enable the people “go about their activities during the day”. Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa Okowa in a post on Twitter, said he took the action following security advice he received from three service commanders. He said, “I just received a comprehensive briefing on the security situation across Delta State from the three Service Commanders. Having analysed the situation critically, I wish to thank all Deltans, particularly our youth, for complying with the curfew that was imposed two days ago. “The current 48-hour curfew will expire by 6pm today Saturday, October 24th, 2020. “However, from this evening, the curfew will be in effect from 6pm to 8am till further notice. Thugs under the guise of the ongoing #EndSARS protest on Saturday looted Plateau State COVID-19 palliative warehouse at Bukuru community of Jos South Local Government Area. Acting on a tip-off, it was learnt that the hoodlums stormed the warehouse said to belong to the State Emergency Management Agency and pulled down the doors before carting away the palliatives. BREAKING: Tension In Abuja As Thugs Attempt To Break Into Warehouse With Suspected COVID-19 Palliatives

Security operatives are currently shooting sporadically at the popular UTC loated in Area 10 in Abuja as thugs attempted to break into the Art and Culture building where COVID-19 palliatives are suspected to be kept. The miscreants whose aim was to empty the facility, were repelled by the security agents including the police, army, Department of State Services personnel. Several gunshots were fired into the air in an attempt to disperse the thugs. As of the time of this report, the area, which is known as the commercial hub of the city, had been deserted while security operatives surrounded the building. The incident led to commotion as traders and passersby scampered for safety.
