Test-books are useful sources of Nigerian law because in the course of proceeding m courts, Judges often refer to text-books as authority for their pronouncements. Such textbooks must be written by notable jurist. E.g. Justice Orojo, Prof. Ben Nwabueze and Dr. Akintola Aguda.
Law Report
Law report as a source of Nigeria law consist of judicial pronouncement on cases. This is essential for the growth of case law. There are publications which contain the law reports, e.g., Nigeria Weekly law Report, Nigeria Monthly Law Report, etc.
Judicial Precedent
Judicial precedent or case law consists of law found in Judicial decisions. A judicial precedent is the principle of law on which a judicial dedsiofl4s-baS5d. Thus the principle of law on which a court bases its decision in relation to the material facts before courts must follow it in similar teases below it in the hierarchy of courts.
