Rema drops another banger in his conceptual track, “Alien”

Recently crowned Apple Music’s Up Next artist - previously awarded to Billie Eilish, Khalid & H.E.R - Afropop’s prince, Rema is ready to drop more music, following the successful release of “Ginger Me.” Due out on Mavin Record/Jonzing World, his next track “Alien” drops today, 26th June.

Hailing from the legendary Benin City, the 20-year-old prodigy continues to live up to the hype with his innate ability to meld genres and cultures. Crediting his parents for introducing him to Fela Kuti & 2Face, Rema draws influences far beyond West Africa with Bollywood, Trap, Afrobeats, and Pop all becoming part of his trademark sound.

Produced by Level, trap-influenced “Alien” takes us on a trippy journey through the mind of a young heartbreaker. Reciting “I’m an alien”, whilst floating into a helium haze, we can sit back and admire his intergalactic inspiration. His unconventional approach to music is what put him on the map and his new concept track “Alien” reaffirms this furthermore.

Recently celebrating the one-year anniversary of his breakthrough viral hit ‘Dumebi’, Rema reflects on early career highlights including winning ‘next rated superstar’ at the 2019 esteemed Headies Awards, appearing in Barack Obama’s playlist, as well as gracing the covers of Fader and Dazed & Confused.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID.   A former Director-General of the Nigeria Maritime Agency, Buba Galadima, has accused the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria of witch-hunt after the agency took possession of his business and assets on Tuesday in Abuja.
