King Promise – Sisa

Last week singer King Promise delivered a brand new single titled “Sisa”, his first for the year. This week he’s back again, but this time with the official video of the smooth afrobeats tune. He promised it would be a “movie”, and indeed it is, with the video detailing a dramatic love story between him and his lover. A compelling video for a compelling song.

Shatta Wale – Horny

Shatta Wale comes through this week with a hilarious animated video to his just dropped single “Horny”. Here, the dancehall singer gave an account of several failed sexual encounters in one night, which in the video led to him being rushed to the hospital for an unrelenting erection. Lmao. Shatta is definitely a character!

Shaker – Low Battery

Ghanaian rapper and producer Shaker dropped a new one, titled “Low Battery”. He delivers a smooth fusion of afrobeats and highlife, where he issues a few solid gems of life advice, with the aim of motivating every young hustler out there. The joint was produced by Shaker the maestro himself.

Becca ft. Busiswa and DWP Academy – No One

Ghanaian songstress Becca (any time I see her name I instantly remember her classic with M.I “No Away”) tries her hand at the South African genre of music Gqom, and to assist her she brings in South African hitmaker Busiswa and Ghanaian dance group DWP Academy. Personally, I can’t get tired of seeing West African interpretations of South African music. Love this one.

Big Dragon (Efya) ft. KiddBlack – Spinning

Efya is definitely on a roll, as she releases her third offering as her new alter ego Big Dragon. This one right here is a mellow R&B tune from the soul songstress, featuring a guest verse from young rapper and La Meme Gang member Kiddblack.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
