DCLM Daily Manna – Final Defeat

DCLM Daily MannaTopic: Final Defeat [DCLM Daily Manna 30 December 2019 Daily Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Revelation 19:17-21

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Key Verse: “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone” – (Revelation 19:20).

MESSAGE:

Hundreds of years before the revelation of the end time was given to John the Divine on the lonely Island of Patmos, God had intimated the world of His plan to deal with the sinful inhabitants of the earth. True to His promise, the Lord will fulfil His word according to today’s passage. The Church will be raptured in keeping with the faithfulness of God not to appoint His people to wrath. The Great Tribulation will be the order of the day. The left behind will be the targets of untold suffering with nowhere to seek shelter or comfort. Disobedience, pride, neglect of sound scriptural doctrines and worldliness led them to the broad way of no return.

While there is a feast for the righteous of the Lord in heaven, on earth there is another to mark the destruction of the armies of the devil and his followers. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Captain of the heavenly hosts ready to rout Satan’s forces. It will be total victory for our Lord as an angel calls on the fowls to get set to feed on the vanquished flesh of the enemies of God. Time has run out for them, as they have wasted the opportunity to repent and make peace with the impartial Judge of the whole earth. Both the antichrist (the beast) and the false prophet cannot escape captivity for their final destination, the Lake of fire.

Those who are ensnared by sin and satanic practices have a similar fate awaiting them if they do not turn away from their ways. The door of mercy is still wide open to admit those who will swallow their pride and meekly fall before the risen Christ and plead for pardon. The apocalyptic scenes foreseen by John are better read about or imagined than witnessed. They are a shadow compared to the everlasting torment prepared for Satan and his fellow fallen angels.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Delay to repent is a date with the devil.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Revelation 18-20

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
