DCLM Daily Manna – Seek The Substance

DCLM Daily MannaTopic: Seek The Substance [DCLM Daily Manna 4 November 2019 Daily Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Jeremiah 23:23-32

Key Verse: “Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD” – (Jeremiah 23:32).

MESSAGE:

Someone who had been under the influence of false pastors recounted his experience thus: “In my case, I realised that I had been looking for truth and fulfilment in all the wrong places. While I had focused on things such as money, status, physical appearance and relationships, I had starved my soul. I found that before meaningful, lasting change can occur on the outside, it first must occur on the inside. We cannot successfully change actions or attitudes unless God changes our heart. We must embrace His absolute truth and avoid counterfeits.”

In these end times, counterfeits are all over the place. The devil is employing the instrument of deceit to hoodwink a lot of people, even believers. The Christendom is filled with people with lying tongues who man the pulpits to dish out outright lies. Watchfulness must be the watchword of every heaven-bound Christian.

The man of God should speak those words that are inspired by the Spirit of God. As always, no matter what men do, the word of God will consume the lies of men. The word of God will smite in pieces, the false dreams of those who are led about by their own fantasies. Those who falsely claim that God spoke to them are actually counterfeiting the word of God. Those are false prophets who fashion themselves after a pretense of religiosity in order to gain a following of people.

But you know what? They are enemies of the way; they are enemies of the word of God; they are enemies of God and His Kingdom. They will receive the recompense for their evil deeds; except they repent. We must neither be caught in this sinful web but be seekers of substance.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In the midst of confusion, one thing is needful- divine guidance.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 39-42

A former Director-General of the Nigeria Maritime Agency, Buba Galadima, has accused the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria of witch-hunt after the agency took possession of his business and assets on Tuesday in Abuja. Galadima, an ardent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, claimed that he did not borrow money or have unpaid debt with Unity Bank, which lodged a complaint against him and occasioned AMCON’s move on Tuesday. The properties taken over include House No. 15, Addis Ababa Crescent, Wuse Zone 4, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and House No. 4, Bangui Street, Wuse 2, also in Abuja.  Reacting to the situation, Galadima said, “This is an attempt to disgrace and break me down. This is injustice and an attempt to humiliate me. "But I am unbreakable and they can never silence me. They sacked me and over 50 people that sleep in the apartment. "We don’t know where to go. We will remain on the streets. We will remain on the streets until God provi...
