Zamfara governor orders security agents to relocate to battle fields

- Zamfara governor, Abdul'aziz Yari has pleaded with security agents to relocate to areas where criminals are operating in the state

- The governor promised the security agents that his government will assist them with tools needed to fight the criminals

- Governor Yari said lamented that the absence of security agents in the remote parts of the state

Governor Abdul'aziz Yari of Zamfara state has urged the security agents in the state to move to remote areas where bandits and other criminals are operating.

The governor said most of the villages that have fallen victims of banditry in Zamfara do not have security agents to prevent the unfortunate attacks.

Vanguard reports that Governor Yari praised the federal government for the ban on mining activities in the state, saying that the state does not derive a penny from the activities of illegal miners.

The governor promised the security agents that his government will provide them with logistics and necessary tools to combat the banditry and other growing criminal activities in the state.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that following the issues of insecurity across the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the creation of community policing system to combat security threats.

This was disclosed by the inspector-general of police, Mohammed Adamu, made the announcement Tuesday, April 30, at the Forum of Northern Traditional Rulers in Kaduna.

Adamu said the police have achieved major successes in addressing security and safety threats in recent times which is as the result of the launch of ‘Operation Puff Adder’.

“It is a citizen-centred and community policing approach which will lead to more sustainable successes in the management of internal safety and security threats,” he said.
