Yoruba actor Deji Adenuga’s celebrates as wife emerges first black woman elected into county council in Ireland (video)

A popular Nollywood actor is currently in the spirit of celebration after his wife made history by emerging as the first black woman to be elected into county council in Ireland.

The Yoruba actor identified as Deji Adenuga shared a video with fans and followers on social media in which his wife, Yemi, and some family and friends were filmed as they fell on their knees in worship to the almighty God, following her latest achievement.

Adenuga while sharing the video on his Facebook page noted that only God is to be worshipped forever.

In a different video shared by the celebrant, she was spotted in company of her husband and team members while they awaited the announcement of the results.

Upon announcing her name, an excited Deji Adenuga could not help but lift up his wife from her feet in jubilation, as other well-wishers in the room sang in celebration.

In an interview with the Irish Examiner, the newly elected official said: "I'm delighted to be declared the first migrant councillor in Meath and I'm really looking forward to working with the council on issues that affect the people in the town and county. This is a victory not just for me but for all women and ethnic minorities."

Yemi Adenuga enjoyed a long broadcasting career in her Nigeria, before moving to Ireland for greener pastures almost 20 years ago.

Congratulations to the Nollywood star and his wife.
