The governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari, has assured members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he would not be leaving the party over the outcome of the Supreme court on the state's election.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, May 26, in his home town, Talata Mafara, Yari said since he was one of the founding fathers of the APC, he had no intention of dumping the party.
He also confirmed that some of his supporters have demanded that he dumps the ruling party after treatment meted to him by some leaders of the APC.

The governor said the struggle to build the party has just started following the outcome of the court's ruling on teh elections in the state.
Yari said: “Former Governors of Lagos, Babatunde Fashola; Osun, Rauf Aregbesola; the Governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha; the current Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, and I toiled hard to build this party."
"Therefore, I will not abandon the house I helped to build. The struggle has just started,” Yari added.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the governor had summoned an emergency meeting shortly after the judgment by the Supreme Court.
Yari described the Supreme Court ruling which sacked all candidates of the APC in the state as the will of God.

The governor told his supporters at the state government house in Gusau on Saturday, May 25, that the party in the state did its best to ensure it did not lose the state to the opposition party but could not succeed.
He said what happened is the will of Allah and urged all members of the party as well as other citizens of the state to remain calm, peaceful and law abiding.
