Vigilante storm police station to retrieve and pass sentence on suspected bandits

- Yan sakai vigilante members have demanded for the death of some suspected bandits whom they apprehended

- The vigilante members reportedly surrounded Dandume divisional police station in Dandume local government to make this demand

- However, security personnel refused to hand over the suspended bandits to the vigilante members

Over 1,000 Yan sakai vigilante members reportedly surrounded Dandume divisional police station in Dandume local government to demand for the release and execution of some suspected bandits, Daily trust reports.

The vigilante group had earlier in the day apprehended 22 of the bandits who stormed Unguwar Madugu to purportedly carry out an attack on the village. This was said to have occurred before the arrival of security personnel

According to the report, when the security personnel arrived, they retrieved the bandits from the vigilante.

”We are all aware that security personnel will not allow jungle justice in their presence. They took them to the station and kept them their and the Yansakai stormed the station insisting on collecting them,” Haruna Ja Abdullahi, the local government transition committee chairman said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that troops of the Operation Sharan Daji in Zamfara arrested the vice chairman of Anka local government area of the state, Yahuza Wuya for alleged link to bandits.

The acting information officer of the operation, Major Clement Abiade confirmed the arrest of Wuya in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja Thursday, April 18.

Abiade said the council vice chairman was picked up on April 13 based on credible intelligence linking him to bandits’ activities in Wuya and Sunke communities.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
