Panic at Anfield as Liverpool star misses last training ahead of UCL tie against Barcelona

- Virgil Van Dijk missed Liverpool's last training ahead of Champions League tie against Barcelona

- The duo of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are already out for the clash against the Spanish champions

- Barcelona won the first leg at the Nou Camp 3-0 with goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi

Premier League giants Liverpool are now seriously worried on the fitness of star defender Virgil Van Dijk ahead of their Champions League semifinal second leg against Barcelona.

The 27-year-old Dutch football star missed Liverpool's last training session ahead of their big match against Barcelona in which they lost 3-0 in the first leg.

Already, Liverpool have been dealt with a major blow following the injury Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino sustained which ruled them out of the clash against Barcelona.

According to the report by Mirror UK, midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Virgil Van Dijk trained on their own on Monday, May 6, ahead of the encounter.

But the report added that Liverpool have not confirmed if Virgil Van Dijk will miss the showdown against Barcelona or will play.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: “The approach we will take is that we try to win the game, if that makes sense.

“But you cannot play against Barcelona and tell the world ‘Watch this’ and after 10 minutes we are level.

“You cannot win 3-0 in the first five minutes, even if you are 3-0 up, you haven't won it. We have to be ready to try for 95 minutes or even more,''.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Virgil Van Dijk praised Barcelona forward Lionel Messi for his performance against his side in the Champions League on Wednesday night, May 1.

Lionel Messi was superb for Barcelona at Nou Camp scoring a brace which condemned Liverpool to a 3-0 defeat in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal encounter.
