The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, has said that the people of the state misunderstood him and his style of leadership.

Daily Independent reports that Okorocha said his also the most controversial governor Imo state has ever produced i the history of governance.

Speaking at the official commission of the new justice Chukwudifu Akunne Oputa High court complex , the governor said his passion for good governance makes him bend rules and regulations rather than breaking such rules.

Okorocha said he had no regret for his actions as history would vindicate him because if he had adhered to the usual style of governance, he would not have succeeded.

He said: “I came in through the window of the masses and not through the doors of the elite and I am crazy in my vision and passion for a greater Imo state and nothing has affected my oblongata."

"Let my works speak for me after leaving the office and I am not in the business of wasting, the taxpayers’ money to commission projects because I believe that such fund should be channeled to other productive ventures.

“My crazy system of governance is working and no governor coming after me will ever think of building hospitals in Imo for the next 50 years or to build more varsities," Okorocha said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Okorocha had said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has made him suffer ten times more than what he would have experienced if he were in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor, however, said that he still remains a very loyal member of the APC despite all ways to frustrate him.

Okorocha also criticised the APC's national chairman, Adams Oshimhole, and other chieftains of the party for working with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to frustrate his senatorial bid.
