Nigeria's apex court, Supreme Court, on Friday, May 24, delivered a landmark judgement nullifying all votes cast for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 elections in Zamfara state.
The apex court declared that the APC in Zamfara had no candidates in the 2019 elections, and therefore could not claim to have won.
The five-member panel of justices, presided by Ibrahim Muhammad, acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), unanimously held that the party with the second highest votes in the election should be declared the winner as long as it fulfilled the constitutional requirement.

He said the party has no option than to accept the ruling of the Supreme Court.
Eta, who reportedly spoke with newsmen on Friday, May 24, after a meeting of the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja, said the party had learnt some lessons from the Zamfara scenario.
