Liverpool get massive injury boost ahead of Tottenham Champions League final showdown

Roberto Firmino has handed Liverpool a massive injury boost after stepping up his rehab as he intensifies training to regain his fitness ahead of the Champions League final.

According to The Mirror, the forward, who was listed in the Selecao squad Copa America squad this week is back in training after suffering a thigh tear that saw him missing four of Liverpool’s final five fixtures of the season.

However, Firmino barely managed to play against Barcelona in the first leg of their semi-final defeat and was withdrawn after 12 minute, and did not feature for Liverpool since.

At the last count, the Reds have paid close attention to the forward’s recovery, and travelled with other teammates to a training camp in Marbella early in the week.

In addition, Liverpool's strength and rehabilitation assistant David Ridings alongside physio Sven Kampmann have also assisted the forward in getting back to shape, with intense exercises.

On the other hand, the Brazilian has worked separately in the gym, as well as increasing his movement, with short, sharp sprints, on the training field.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains upbeat Firmino will be fit enough to tackle Tottenham in the UCL final in Madrid on June 1.

Reacting moments after the final day of the Premier League campaign, the German tactician Klopp insists his No.9, will be ready to play on matchday.

We have time before the final and that should be enough."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that an unnamed Barcelona fan was unable to control his anger on Tuesday night, May 7, after his club's Champions League defeat against Liverpool forcing him to break his flat screen TV.

Barcelona were tipped to reach the final of the 2018/19 Champions League having beat Liverpool 3-0 in semi final first leg, but they suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat in the return leg.

A supporter who has a framed of Lionel Messi jersey hanging on his wall however threw his remote, slapped and then kicked the TV in disgust.

The angry fan's friends seemed completely unmoved by the fit of fury as they just sat and watched him get it out of his system.
