Lai Mohammed, APC were sent by God to win 2019 polls - Kwara cleric says

- Chief Imam of Olorunsogo Central mosque in Ilorin Alhaji Solihu Orire says God called Lai Mohammed and APC to deliver the state from backwardness

- Orire said this in Oro at Irepodun LGA on Saturday during a lecture organized by the information minister

- The cleric said 2018 edition of the Ramadan lecture was aimed at prayers for the state's deliverance and now it has happened, so God is involved

Information minister Lai Mohammed and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have been described as sent by God to deliver the people of Kwara state from political backwardness.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that this description was made on Saturday, May 18 in Kwara state by an Islamic cleric Alhaji Solihu Orire.

The cleric said the victory of the APC in the last general elections in Kwara was an indication of a divine call to deliver the state from retrogression.

Orire, who is the Chief Imam of Olorunsogo Central mosque in Ilorin, said this during 2019 Lai Mohammed annual Ramadan lecture in Oro, Irepodun local government area.

The cleric said during the 2018 edition of the lecture prayers were specifically offered toward the success of “O to ge” (enough is enough) liberation struggle and today we are giving thanks to God for the landmark victory.

“This is an indication that APC and its leader in the state, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who are engrossed in the struggle, are God sent to wrestle the state from its leadership challenges."

In a similar vein, Legit.ng reported the outgoing speaker of Kwara state House of Assembly, Ali Ahmad, said that Saraki's political dynasty would bounce back in the state.

Ahmad, who is an ally to the Senate president Bukola Saraki, noted that though the dynasty was broken during the last general elections, he was confident that it would soon bounce back.

He said that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, would not interfere with the incoming government, adding that they would allow a peaceful transition.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
