Kogi guber: Hon. Faleke joins race for APC ticket

Honourable James Faleke has signified his intention to contest the Kogi state governorship election scheduled for November 2019.

The Lagos state House of Representative member-elect, will be slugging it out with Governor Yahaya Bello along with other aspirants in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Faleke’s governorship posters have already flooded the national secretariat of the APC, located at Blantyre street, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The posters were pasted at strategic locations around the party premises such that visitors to the facility can't miss it.

Faleke, 57, is a former running-mate to late Abubakar Audu, who died on the eve of the Kogi state governorship election in 2015.

He is a trusted political ally of the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Meanwhile, the director-general of media and publicity to Governor Yahaya Bello, Kingsley Fanwo, has stated that Bello's declaration for second term has made his political opponents jittery.

Fanwo said Governor Bello's declaration has unsettled his opponents, “many of whom had thought the party would fail and then die after the 2019 general elections in Kogi state.”

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
