I am not going to train my daughter to see marriage as the most important thing - Akin Alabi

In Nigeria and most African countries, marriage is seen as the ultimate thing a woman can achieve. It does not always seem to matter whether she has attained great career heights or made life changing discoveries.

Despite the fact that many women and men are starting to let go of this school of thought, some ladies still see all their achievements as nothing if they are unmarried.

Well, House of Rep elect for Egbeda/Ona Ara federal constituency, Ibadan, Oloye Akin Alabi, has shared his thought on the issue on his Twitter page.

According to him, a lady’s friends start behaving differently after she gets married or proposed to. He added that this kind of behaviour from ladies fuels patriarchy because men can see how much women want to get married so they misbehave.

Explaining further, Akin Alabi added that he is not going to train his daughter to see marriage as the most important thing.

Akin Alabi is known for sharing his opinion on controversial topics on his Twitter page. The politician and business man recently made the news after he commented on the viral story of a gateman who rejected his boss' offer to build him a house but opted for a borehole in his community.

Alabi expressed that even though Usman’s decision was truly selfless; it was not a wise one. According to him, he would have been able to do the greater good if he collected the house, sell it off and install multiple boreholes in the community.
