Fans mock Super Eagles star after miss for Leicester against Man City

Kelechi Iheanacho, has been branded a City ‘agent’ by fans on the social media, after failing to net a clear chance for Leicester against his former employers at the Etihad.

The Super Eagles forward, who started his Premier League career at City, before joining the Foxes in the summer of 2017.

And on Monday night, May 6, Iheanacho mishandled a late chance as Leicester pushed forward for a needed equalizer against the league leaders – with the Nigerian now being accused of handing the EPL title to his former club.

Vincent Kompany's strike handed the Citizens all three points to topple to see City topple Liverpool at the summit of the log, but Iheanacho failed to level scores when it mattered most, with just one more fixture to end the season.

The result means that City will win the Premier League title back-to-back, if they beat Brighton on Sunday, May 12.

Moments after the match Iheanacho's miss was trolled across on social media as fans pointed out his loyalty to his former club.

"Kelechi Iheanacho with a big chance for Leicester, but he shouts "nah Liverpool fans will be unbearable" right before sticking it wide,” Paddy Power tweeted.

And Gary Lineker took it to another level saying: "That’s why @ManCity let Iheanacho go."

A City fan account 'created' a conversation between Pep Guardiola and the forward about his future.

It went: "Pep:I will sell you to Leicester city

"Agent Iheanacho: why boss ?

"Pep: one day you will win us the tittle my boy

"Agent Iheanacho: thank you for trusting me with this".

Reacting after the match, Vincent Kompany, revealed he was excited scoring the match winner.

"It's not about the amount of goals you score it's about when you score them. Today it was necessary. From the very start we had the right intensity to try and win this game.

"Kasper made some important saves and only I could beat him on a day like today! I'm just trying to contribute and today we went one step closer.

"We were putting pressure on, upping the tempo but found the last pass difficult. They defended really well and it was going to take something special. I'm really happy for the team.

"This club, it's part of how we have been successful to have goals like this, moments like this. We always believe that we have a chance and can play for the last second.

"Every step in the last four months was significant. Liverpool keep making the steps and now we have a final to play in Brighton, Nothing is won yet."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester City are one match away from winning the Premier League title second time in a row following their 1-0 win over Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola's men struggled for close to 70 minutes before Vincent Kompany broke the deadlock with just 20 minutes left to play in the game.

The Belgian powered home a thunderous shot from long range which beat Kasper Schmeichel after receiving a pass from Aymeric Laporte.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
