David Alaba says Nigerian Under 17 coaches never demanded money from him

- David Alaba who plays for Bayern Munich has denied reports that he said under-17 coaches demanded bribe from him to play for Nigeria

- There were reports recently claiming that the 26-year-old did not get the chance to play for Nigeria because of his refusal to settle some coaches

- And now the Austria international stated clearly that he did say what was reported about him

Bayern Munich star David Alaba has rubbished reports claiming that he said Nigerian under-17 coaches demanded money from him to play for the team.

David Alaba, whose father is a Nigerian, plays for the Austrian senior men's national team.

The 26-year-old Alaba who was born in Vienna by Filipino mother and Nigerian father was keen on playing for Nigeria’s Super Eagles before he decided to play for the country of his birth.

And recently, there were reports that David Alaba slammed Nigerian coaches who were in charge of the team in 2007 for not including him in their side.

The reports claimed Alaba revealed that some coaches demanded him to pay before getting a chance to play for Nigeria.

Alaba has now branded the reports as fake while speaking to Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba, who is based in Germany, in an exclusive video interview.

When asked about the report, Alaba said: "No, that is not true. It's fake."

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Bayern Munich defender David Alaba on Friday, June 8, led the Austrian national football team to visit the Super Eagles of Nigeria before the 2018 World Cup.

Although the 26-year-old Alaba is a Nigerian by blood, but he was not raised up in African and decided to play for the Austrian national team.

He has however chosen not to forget the country of his father and therefore decided to visit the Super Eagles who went to train in Austria.
