What I will do if Buhari offers me political appointment - Moghalu

- Kingsley Moghalu said he will reflect on it if President Buhari offers him a political appointment

- The presidential candidate of the YPP said this in a chat with Arise News TV

- Moghalu also announced his withdrawal from partisan politics as "the elections are over"

Kingsley Moghalu, the presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the 2019 presidential election has said he would reflect on it before taking a decision if President Muhammadu Buhari offers him a political appointment.

Moghalu who is a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) stated this in a chat with Arise News TV in Abuja on Friday, April 12.

The YPP presidential candidate, also during the chat, announced his withdrawal from partisan politics as "the elections are over".

He said he was going to dedicate his time to a citizens’ movement called To Build A Nation (TBAN), which seeks to help in the development of Nigeria’s electoral process.

His words: “I have decided to pretty much withdraw from partisan engagement at this time; the elections are over.

“We’re engaging on a non-partisan basis to a platform called To Build A Nation (TBAN), a citizens’ movement that will campaign for electoral reform and engage in voter education.

“Those are the two things this democracy needs if it is to survive.”

When asked if he would accept a political appointment in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, he said: “If such an appointment is offered, then you reflect on it and make a decision.”

In the 2019 presidential election, Moghalu came 14th with a total of 21,886 votes.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state advised President Muhammadu Buhari to look for competent hands in forming his new cabinet.

Ganduje offered this advice while fielding questions from State House correspondents after a private meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday, April 12, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said he was in the Presidential Villa to inform the vice president that all was set for his visit to Kano state on Saturday, April 13, for a marriage ceremony.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
