- Senator Hope Uzodinma has described Governor Rochas Okorocha and his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as being bereft of any electoral value
- The APC governorship candidate in Imo state also said the duo are unfit to cast aspersions on him
- He also accused the two of colluding with the PDP to exclude result of votes cast for the APC during the polls
The candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded governorship election in Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma has described Governor Rochas Okorocha and his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as lacking any electoral value.
He also accused the two of colluding with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to exclude result of votes cast for the APC from the final votes announced in order to rob it of its deserved victory in the governorship and state house of assembly elections.
Senator Uzodinma, in a statement on Friday, April 5 by the director of media and special duties of his campaign organization, Declan Mbadiwe Emelumba, stated that Okorocha and Nwosu were celebrating their failure because their only goal was their failed attempt to destroy APC.

According to him, the statement recently credited to both Okorocha and Nwosu that APC lost because Nwosu was not given the ticket confirmed that the destruction of the party was the primary concern of the outgoing governor and his son-in-law.
“It is truly pathetic that Okorocha and Nwosu are celebrating their defeat in the polls. Because of their evil infested minds, defeat for APC amounts to victory for them.
This crooked reasoning only goes to confirm what is already in public domain which is that he and his father-in-law set out from the beginning to destroy APC in Imo consequent upon which they colluded with the PDP to exclude the votes cast for the party in the elections, from the final collation,” he stated.
Uzodinma who described Uche Nwosu as a political infant insisted that he was no match to him in any electoral contest as he had won his senatorial elections back to back, stressing that the governor's in-law has never won any election in his life and lost the only election he ever contested.
He further argued that in spite of intimidation and vote-buying, Uche Nwosu and his father-in-law could not procure victory because Imo people roundly rejected them.
The senator representing Imo wesst senatorial district, insisted that he remained the most popular candidate in the governorship election and that he won the election by majority of votes cast.
He said he was confident that the tribunal will ensure that justice is done and shame those on a mission to destroy the APC in Imo state.

Meanwhile, Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Friday, April 5 said he has no reason to regret losing the senatorial election and his unsuccessful attempt to hand over to a successor from his party - the APC.
He said he was grateful to God for being the longest serving governor in the state.
The governor made the remarks at a thanksgiving service to mark the 60th birthday of his wife, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, held at the Government House, Ibadan.
