Top European club reject Jose Mourinho's request to become their manager

- Jose Mourinho held talks with French club PSG for the possibility of being hired

- But the club turned down his request as they prefer to continue with Thomas Tuchel

- Mourinho has been out of coaching job since he was sacked at Manchester United

Former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly held talks with French club Paris-Saint-Germain, but the side prefer to keep current gaffer Thomas Tuchel.

The Portuguese football manager is searching for a new club as he plots his return to management ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Mourinho was sacked at Manchester United in December 2018, and he has been out of coaching job since he left Old Trafford.

And according to the latest report by Daily Record, Jose Mourinho and his representative have met with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi over the possibility of being hired.

But the report added that Jose Mourinho's request was turned down by PSG chief who wants Tuchel to continue his role at the Paris based club.

Thomas Tuchel has been under fire since Paris-Saint-Germain were sent out of the 2018/19 Champions League by Manchester United.

PSG won the first leg match 2-0 in their round of 16 clash at Old Trafford, but they were stunned by the Red Devils in the return leg losing 3-1.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Jose Mourinho on Saturday, March 30, returned to the dugout as an assistant manager for Inter Milan Forever during a special occasion in the final test event for Spurs' new stadium.

This was Mourinho's first appearance in the dugout to manage a team since his sacking as Manchester United manager back in December 2018.
