Super Eagles replace Ghana with stronger opponent for friendly ahead of AFCON 2019

- Super Eagles are lining up to play a friendly with Atlas Lions of Morocco

- The Nigeria Football Federation have also booked a warm up game with Senegal

- Nigeria will play in Group B alongside Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea

Super Eagles will likely face Morocco in a pre-AFCON 2019 friendly game as talks are already underway with the North Africans, Gernot Rohr reveals.

The three time African champions have already booked a warm up game with Senegal which has been confirmed by Senegalese Football Association President, Augustin Senghor.

But the one against Ghana will unlikely not hold because the Black Stars have chosen to hold a three-week get-together in the United Arab Emirates as part of their preparations for AFCON.

When asked if he would like to face Morocco as part of preparations, Rohr said: ''There is a possibility that we play a friendly match against Morocco before the AFCON, but nothing is decided yet.

''We really like playing against this good team from Morocco. But in March, it was not possible because we already had a scheduled friendly meeting with Egypt at home in Nigeria," he told Media24.

The Atlas Lions, who are one of the favourites to win the 2019 AFCON, have not met the Super Eagles in an international match since 2004.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has made it clear that new players will not be invited into the squad for AFCON 2019 tournament.

Nigeria will be making a return to the tournament after missing out in the 2015 and 2017 editions.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
