Presidential aide alleges Atiku planned to use Onnoghen to cancel 17 states' votes in 2019 polls

- Lauretta Onochie claims that Atiku Abubakar had various options targeted at destabilising Nigeria during and after the election

- Onochie alleges that one of such plans was to use Walter Onnoghen to cancel the electoral victory of President Buhari in 17 states

- However, Timi Frank responds to the allegations and says the presidency is caught in its feudal slip

A presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, has alleged that Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections, planned to destabilise the process using Walter Onnoghen, the suspended Chief Judge of Nigeria (CJN).

Onnochie claimed that one of Atiku’s strategies was to use Onnoghen to cancel elections in 17 states won by President Buhari during the election.

She also alleged that Atiku planned the Venezuela option where he would be recognized by a section of the world as Nigeria’s president even though there is an incumbent.

She said these allegations were drawn from the “details in the Atiku’s plan which many Nigerians did not read.

“That's because it's in the version that was concealed from Nigerians like Paul Ibeh, Atiku's media adviser (?), who is never taken into confidence by ‘Team Atiku’. Well, the devil, as they say, is in the details.”

Onochie alleged that Alhaji Atiku was confident thst Justice Onnoghen’s team would deliver the presidency to him. She added that the plan was to steal the mandate from Buhari.

“The plan, yes the ‘Atiku's Plan’ was for Justice Onnoghen to annul the results of 17 major states won by President Buhari, thereby giving victory to you guessed who, yes, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. But Justice Onnoghen confessed to crimes against our nation. That put the spanner in the works for the ‘Atiku Plan One’,” Onochie said.

According to her, this was partly way the governors from the south south mobilised the youth wing of PDP and IPOB to defend “the self-confessed offender” and threathened the nation with mayhem.

She said not done, Atiku’s second option was disrupted with the postponement of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

As a result, she said, the third plan was the Venezuelan option, which in addition had to do with pasting posters all over Abuja and lobbying the United States, apart from going to the election petition tribunal.

“Every Atiku Abubakar plan for the destabilisation of our nation, will come to nothing. Nigerians will resist any form of foreign interference in our domestic affairs because Nigeria is a sovereign nation, a fact that is lost on the desperate Atiku Abubakar. We will insist that our sovereignty, be respected.

“Our laws should not be respecters of status. Let the law enforcement agencies therefore, go after those who break them, irrespective of status,” she said.

Legit.ng earlier reported that in reaction, a former deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, said the presidency has been caught in its 'freudian slip'.

Frank said unconsciously, the statement credited to the presidential spokeswoman that the now-resigned former CJN, had a plan to judicially annul the February 23, 2019 presidential election and hand over a default victory to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is significant.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
