Nigerian-born British footballer discusses possible career with WWE

- Adebayo Akinfewa is looking at the possibility of becoming a WWE superstar

- The 36-year-old striker currently plays for English League One side Wycombe

- Akinfewa has been regarded as football's strongest player because of his heavy built stature

Adebayo Afinfewa is considering a career with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) after his footballing career ends.

The Nigerian-born British footballer who currently plays for League One side Wycombe has admitted that stepping into the ring to wrestle is a possibility.

The 36-year-old is close to calling it quits with football and believes his next point of call is featuring in wrestling's biggest company.

The heavily built striker had a meeting with WWE legend Dwayne Johnson also known as 'The Rock' and the fact his kids are fans of the sport could play a role in a switch to the ring.

"We have had conversations," he remarked about a jump to WWE on The Football Social.

"I'm into WWE because my kids are.

"I got the chance to meet The Rock and we had a little conversation.

"So watch this space, who knows."

The forward is presently enjoying his third season with Wycombe, scoring 17 goals en route to promotion and a League Two Player of the Season nomination during the 2017/18.

When asked if he could beat The Rock, Akinfenwa was clear: "What? Of course, yeah."

Akinfewa was also asked about his wrestling name and signature move, and he added: "It will just be something like Beast and I'll have the Beast Slam, who knows."

Akinfenwa, who has played for 11 clubs across the Football League in England, has hit seven goals this season including a late brace away at Southend last Saturday.
