Juventus reveal update on Cristiano Ronaldo’s thigh injury ahead of Ajax clash

Cristiano Ronaldo is facing race against time to make Juventus squad for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash against Ajax

According to Metro, Juventus boss Massiliano Allegri took out time to speak on the forward, who suffered a thigh injury while representing Portugal in the Euro qualifiers.

The former Real Madrid ace has not featured in any Juventus match since the international break and will sit out Juventus’ Serie A game against Cagliari on Tuesday, April 2, after missing the weekend’s win over Empoli.

Ajax play host to Juventus at the Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday, April 10, and Allegri confessed Ronaldo was battling to be fit to play.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is working to get back, we hope to have him ready for Ajax, but it will be difficult,” Allegri summed up ahead of tonight’s clash with Cagliari.

Ronaldo stressed he will not miss more than 14 days after cropping the thigh injury and Juventus are eager to have their main man back.

The Portuguese forward netted a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in the last-16 round to book a quarter-finals spot.

That performance helped Juventus overturn a 2-0 deficit by Atletico in their first leg clash at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Currently, the 34-year-old forward is Juventus’ top scorer this campaign, with 24 goals across all competitions.

The Dutch side Ajax will be eyeing another giant killing status after beating Real Madrid in the last-16 round.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
