Barely 48 hours after the Easter day tragedy that resulted in the death of 11 people in Gombe state, the commandant general of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has reacted.
A statement from the media office of the law enforcement agency made available to Legit.ng on Tuesday, April 23, said Muhammadu had sent a high-powered delegation to condole with the government and people of Gombe state over the incident that involved members of Boys’ Brigade of ECWA Church, Bamusa, Barunde, Madaki, and the St Peter’s Anglican Church in the state.

“Gana, who is away to attend to the international civil defence meeting abroad, has ordered investigation into the tragedy and ordered the commandant of the corps in the state take necessary actions.
“The commandant general further assured the general public of his readiness to personally handle the case on his return from his official trip,” the statement said.
