According to Adamu, the Police will not rest on its oars until kidnappings and other violent crimes are subdued, and sanity restored to the land
The inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu, has said that he must end crime in various states across Nigeria.
Adamu while commending officers of the Nigeria Police over feats achieved in the fight against crime in the country said the Police is working in collaboration with other security agencies.
He also said that the Police will not rest on its oars until kidnappings and other violent crimes are subdued, and sanity restored to the land.
Vanguard reports that the IGP's promise followed the arrest of the alleged “Spiritual Father” of kidnappers and armed bandits operating in the Northern part of the country.

The Police said Mallam Salisu Abubakar was arrested by detectives attached to Operation Puff Adder after series of detailed, intensive and sustained investigative operations.
Also arrested were 18 notorious kidnappers and armed robbers at different times and places across the country.
It was also gathered that 22 AK 47 riffles, five locally fabricated pistols and a cache of live ammunition were recovered from the bandits from their hide-outs in Birnin Gwari, Rijana, Katari, Mai Daro and Buruku Forests in Kaduna state.
The suspects were said to be involved in some of the most heinous crimes committed in Kaduna state and its environs in recent times.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Adamu had on Thursday, April 25, reversed the shift structure of the Nigeria Police.

Adamu while declaring the conference of heads of Police Medical Facilities at the Force headquarters open directed that the 12-hour shift system for officers who are on duty be reversed to the traditional 8-hours shift.
He also ordered for a three-shift duty standard for all officers of the Nigeria Police.
