The family of a British aid worker killed in Kaduna state, Nigeria by kidnappers have paid tribute to Faye Mooney for her bravery.

The Mooney family in an interview with Guardian said Faye's bravery and her belief in a better society for all took her to places where a lot more others feared to thread.

Describing Faye as an inspiration to family, friend, students and work colleagues, the Mooney family said the late 29-year-old aid's memory will always be cherished.

The Mooney family said: “Faye was an inspiration to her family, friends, students and work colleagues. Her bravery and her belief in a better society took her to places others feared. We are so proud of who she was and of everything she achieved in her short life. Her memory will always be cherished.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that fresh violence in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state has led to the death of a foreign tourist and three others.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked the popular Kajuru Castle around 11:30 am on Friday, April 19 to carry out the dastardly act.

Faye was at the place from Lagos with other friends as tourists when the gunmen stormed the area and was gunned down from the hill by the kidnappers, who tried to gain entrance into the castle but failed.

According to the release by force spokesman DSP Yakubu Sabo, only two people were killed.

The Spokesman also said that only three people were abducted and that a team of police officers, led by the DPO Kajuru, evacuated the victims to Saint Gerald hospital.
