Getafe battled Real Madrid to a 0-0 draw in a tough La Liga clash on Thursday, April 25, at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

The encounter saw the Real Madrid struggle to net against a Getafe side that are eyeing a top four finish at the end of the season.

Gareth Bale and Brahim Diaz returned to Real Madrid starting XI along with hat-trick hero Karim Benzema.

The match started rather slowly as it took half hour of football for fans to see the first real chance to the game as Los Blancos shot-stopper Keylor Navas was spot-on to prevent Mauro Arambarri from netting the opening goal of the match.

In the 40th minute, Bale created a decent opportunity for Benzema to break the deadlock, but the Frenchman effort was kept out by David Soria in the vital area.

In the first 10 minutes after the restart, Real Madrid upped their game as Casemiro and Dani Carvajal tried their luck from distance, but their effort went off target.

As the continued, Los Blancos also created another opportunity to score through Diaz, who exhibited great footwork, but his decent strike was saved by Soria.

With 20 minutes left on the clock, Diaz and Bale were substituted by Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio, but their introduction failed yield dividend.

In the closing moments of the game, both teams went in search of the winner, but the home-side had a late chance to net through Samuel Sáiz on 90 minutes, but Keylor Navas was on hand make a save as the clash ended in a barren draw.

The result sees Los Blancos six points behind second-placed Atletico Madrid, with Getafe now fifth on La Liga log after Sevilla defeated Real Vallecano.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Karim Benzema netted a hat-trick as Real Madrid defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in a tough La Liga clash on Sunday. April 21, at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The encounter saw both sides failed to convert several scoring opportunities that also witnessed several stoppage that saw the trio of Inigo Cordoba, Yuri Berchiche and Raul Garcia enter the referee’s book at the end of the first half.

However, at the start of second half the home-ide started brightly, with Karim Benzema nodding home a decent cross in the 47th to put Real Madrid in the lead.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
