Faces of police officers who shot dead 20-year-old lady, injured man in Ajegunle (photos)

The police officers involved in the killing of a 20-year-old lady in Ajegunle, Lagos state, have been reportedly arrested.

Legit.ng had reported earlier that a lady and a young man with her were both shot in Ajegunle area of Lagos. The girl died from the shooting while the man sustained grievous injuries and doctors are currently battling to save his life.

The names of the officers said to be involved in the shooting are:

  1. Inspector Adamu Usman
  2. Sergeant Adeyeye Adeoye
  3. Sergeant Kashim Tijani
  4. Sergeant Lucky Akigbe and
  5. Sergeant Paul Adeoye

Nigerian rapper, Ruggedman, is demanding the death sentence for police officers who kill innocent people.

According to report, one of the police officers is at large and has been reportedly declared wanted by the Command.

There have been several reports of police brutality, gross extra-judicial killings, the recent being the shooting of Kolade Johnson, a father of one, by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Kolade was shot dead on Sunday, March 31 while he was watching a football match between Liverpool and Tottenham.

Legit.ng carried out polls on both facebook and twitter to weigh the reactions of Nigerians on the activities of SARS and the NPF generally, asking if the rate of police brutality will reduce with the scrapping of the squad or a total reform of the police force.

On facebook, out of 2,000 respondents to the poll, 46% believed that SARS should be totally scrapped to deal with police brutality in the country once and for all.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
