Days after rapper Dremo calls attention to weak 3rd mainland bridge, it gets fixed by engineers

- Nigerian rapper, Dremo, recently called the attention of authorities to the faulty state of 3rd mainland bridge

- Interestingly, a large number of social media engineers mocked the entertainer, saying it was normal for the bridge to shake

- However, some engineers have now fixed the bridge to avoid a disaster

Social media is a tool that is very useful if properly utilised. Recently, a Nigerian entertainer used his platform to create awareness about what could have easily become a disaster.

Nigerian rapper, Dremo, shared a short video of a faulty section on the 3rd mainland bridge, which is no doubt one of the most plied roads in Lagos state. In the video, the bridge’s joint seemed to be opening gradually and shaking at the same time.

For his efforts, the singer received a lot of backlash from social media engineers who schooled him on expansion joints and other engineering terms. According to them, it was normal for the bridge to shake and there was no cause for alarm.

However, the bridge now appears to have been fixed. An engineer, Abubakar Muhammed, shared photos of the repair on his Instagram page.

This is a welcome development. Other entertainers should also be encouraged to use their platforms to raise awareness for worthy causes.

In other news, Legit.ng reported that a young lady who boarded a plane for the first time was spotted crying uncontrollably as she looked out the window.

She expressed her morbid fear in a rather dramatic and hilarious manner. She looked out the window, cried and perspired and shivered and just about did anything that made passengers sitting around her laugh.

One of the passengers asked her why she was crying and she said she was crying because the plane wants to 'stand up'. The funny thing was that this girl tried to act cool, wipe her tears away and read a book. But still, her fear spoke volumes and she became all jittery again.
