Already, Chelsea have appealed against the ban and will be hoping for a reprieve when the Court of Arbitration for Sport hear their case on Thursday, April 11.

The Stamford Bridge landlords are eager to bring in a top quality forward to enhance their attacking play next campaign.

At the last count, Alvaro Morata was sent packing on loan to Atletico Madrid, Oliver Giroud will run out of contract at the end of the season and has managed two league goals so far.

And winter arrival, Gonzalo Higuain, is still struggling to fit into Maurizio Sarri plans since his loan move from Juventus as he netted just three times in 11 games.

The Sunday Mirror claim Chelsea have commenced discussions with Lewandowski’s agent over a possible move to the Premier League with the hope they will escape FIFA’s two-window transfer ban.

Interestingly, the 30-year-old joined Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund five years ago, claiming four Bundesliga titles with the Bavarians so far.

Lewandowski has netted 35 times in 39 matches for Bayern so far.

Bayern are expected to overhaul their squad in the summer and are reportedly considering RB Leipzig star Timo Werner as a potential replacement for Lewandowski.

Chelsea eggheads further warned that despite the use of Marca as a bargaining platform, the club’s stance on the £100m for Hazard will not change as they get set for a possible two-window transfer ban from FIFA this summer.
