An Easter parade by a group of Christian youths in Gombe state turned bloody on Sunday, April 21 night when a security personnel with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) ran his vehicle into the procession.
Premium Times reports that at least eight of the youths were killed immediately. But the situation got worse when survivors among the youth took laws into their hands.

The angry youths reportedly chased down the NSCDC official and his police officer passenger and proceeded to beat them to death at Alheri junction, Biu Road in Gombe.
The Chairman of the Gombe state Battalion Brigade of the Boys Brigade, Isaac Kwadang, confirmed the sad incident to newsmen, saying he received information of the incident around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Kwadang claimed that the NSCDC personnel, who was off duty, had earlier exchanged words with the youths, then went to his vehicle, turned off his headlights and mowed down eight members of the Brigade, injuring several others as well.

The Chief Medical Director of the Gombe State Specialist Hospital, Shuaibu Muazu, confirmed that some dead bodies from the incident have been deposited in the hospital.
Also, Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, Godwin Omuko, confirmed the incident to journalists, saying some of the bodies were brought to the hospital by his men.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng also reported that President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the horrific attacks on several churches and hotels in Sri Lanka on the holy day of Easter.
The president made his feelings known in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Sunday.
Buhari extended his deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
