- Arsenal's top four finish suffer major set back after losing 1-0 to Everton on Sunday
- 36-year-old Phil Jagielka scored the only goal that separated the two sides after regulation period at Goodison Park
- The Gunners will now hope to return to winning ways when they face Napoli in their Europa League quarterfinal clash
Arsenal suffered their seventh Premier League defeat following their 1-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, April 7.
Phil Jagielka scored the only goal that separated the two sides in the 10th minute of the meeting as the Toffees claim maximum points after regulation period.
The 36-year-old simply tapped into the net a loose ball which came to him after a goal-mouth scramble from both sides.
However, the Gunners remain fourth on the Premier League log with just one point behind Tottenham Hotspur despite their slim defeat on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery ringed a couple of changes to his side as Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both started the match from the bench.
However, the changes couldn't help the visitors avoid defeat at the end of the match as they were unable to find the back of the net before the final whistle sounded.
The Emirates Stadium side are fourth on the table with 63 points after 32 games - and they will hope they can win all their remaining games to qualify for Champions League next season.
Meanwhile, Emery's men will now hope they can return to winning ways when they battle Napoli in their Europa League quarterfinal clash later this week.
