The group also revealed that over 250,000 children within the ages of 10 and 14 years are among those who smoke tobacco in the country.
Akinbode Oluwafemi, who headed the march from Unity Fountain to the area close to the National Assembly Complex said that 16,100 people die yearly due to tobacco consumption.
Oluwafemi condemned Nigeria’s lay attitude towards the passage of the bill that could check the consumption of cigarettes and tobacco products in the country.
He also added that the passage of the bill by the National Assembly will give a great opportunity for the country to enforce the NTC Act 2015.
