Tension as Man City face two-windows transfer ban for flouting 1 important rule

- Man City are facing a two-window transfer ban by FIFA for flouting rules on signing minors

- The Citizen's deal for Jadon Sancho back in 2014 is under probe

- Kelechi Iheanacho’s move to City could also land the club in more trouble

Manchester City could be handed a two-window transfer ban in the coming days.

According to UK Sun report, world’s football governing body, FIFA are ready to slam Man City with the same ban handed to Chelsea for flouting rules guiding the transfer of minors following series of investigations.

“We have been investigating City as part of a long-term investigation.

“We expect there will be an announcement on City, very similar to the one we made on Chelsea, in the next week or two. It is coming very soon,” an insider at FIFA was quoted as saying to SunSport.

In addition, FIFA are also considering a special investigation for Man City, after it emerged the Premier League defending champions are allegedly funding the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana.

Interestingly, the latest development could see Pep Guardiola shelve plans to splash £150m to beef up the squad in the summer.

The Citizens were reportedly eyeing Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell alongside another top star as Fernandinho’s replacement in the summer.

Pep Guardiola was also hoping to land a centre-back and a striker.

Attempts to get Manchester City’s reaction proved abortive as they were not ready to speak on the issue.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester City could miss out of Champions League next term due to their Financial Fair Play row with Europe’s football governing body, UEFA.

Thus the fifth-place team at the end of the campaign will play in the Champions League next term.

The Sun claim the latest development will see the quartet of Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea fight to the finish in a bid to make the cut.

On the other hand, Man City chiefs are keen to prove their innocence despite UEFA officially commencing a probe on Thursday, March 8.
