Stop threatening voters - Peter Obi warns political fanatics

- The Peoples Democratic Party's vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has raised his voice against those who threaten voters in the country

- Obi said that some political fanatics are going about threatening voters who refuse to vote for a particular political party

- He said that this is against the constitution which grants every eligible voter the right to choose any desired candidate

Peter Obi, the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 23 elections, has raised his voice against persons who attempt to intimidate voters in the country.

Obi said that some persons in Nigeria have threatened to deal with those who refuse to vote for a political party.

Speaking with newsmen in Onitsha, the PDP's vice presidential candidate, said that such moves goes against the constitution which granted voters the right to choose their desired candidates.

The former governor said: “Every Nigerian is free to vote where he resides without molestation and those who are trying to force people to vote for a particular political party are starting what they cannot control.

“Our people are law-abiding and they have contributed immensely to developing the places where they live. Therefore, they have the right to help in determining who governs them.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Peter Obi had expressed confidence that his party would get justice when it challenges the the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the February 23 presidential election in court.

Obi made the statement during a news conference in his Onitsha residence on Monday, March 4, where he called on Nigerians to massively vote candidates of PDP in the March 9 elections.
