Singer Danny Young slams Tiwa Savage and Mavin Records with N200 million copyright infringement lawsuit

It appears the copyright infringement drama between Mavin Records act Tiwa Savage and Nigerian singer Danny Young, is far from being over as a new development recently unfolded.

Legit.ng had previously gathered the report of the ongoing drag between the two after Young had filed for copyright infringement against Savage. He had accused her of intellectual property theft, following the release of her music single One.

In a video shared by the singer, he disclosed that the songstress had stolen content from his 2009 single, Oju Tiwon.

Following another report, the claims made by the Young was taken up by popular video streaming platform YouTube, as the music video for the One music single was yanked off the website after copyright claims by a third party.

In another development, Legit.ng gathered a report of the superstar songstress who had taken to her social media page in excitement as she made the announcement that YouTube had restored the music video after ‘unfounded’ claims by a third party.

A new post on the Instagram page of Danny Young shows that the battle is far from won as he had shared a couple of documents that appeared to be a lawsuit filed against Tiwa Savage and Mavin Records.

His lawyer’s, Creative Legal, filed for damages in the sum of N200 million for copyright infringement. The aggrieved singer is said to be seeking remedy against Tiwa and Mavin for unlawfully copying his 2009 release Oju Tiwon, in Tiwa’s 2018 release One.

As at the time of filing this report, there has been no mention of the case on the social media pages of either Tiwa or Mavin boss, Don Jazzy. We would be sure to keep you updated.
