Second term: Sources reveal when Buhari's ministerial list will be ready

Sources at the presidential villa have revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari will be compiling ministerial list for his second term during his vacation abroad.

According to one of the sources, the president is set to proceed on his annual vacation abroad in a few days time. The source added that a letter to this effect would soon be transmitted to both chambers of the National Assembly, Daily Trust.

Legit.ng notes that the source said that President Buhari would use the opportunity of his vacation to compile the list.

He said: “It is expected that the President will compile the list during his vacation abroad. He doesn’t want anybody to interfere with it."

Another source said: “Our expectations are that immediately after the inauguration of the National Assembly, the ministerial list would be transmitted for screening and confirmation."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, the finance minister of Nigeria, was on Thursday, March 21, appointed by the Africa Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as the chairperson of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of its peace fund.

The board is made of five members drawn from each region of the continent. The board also has non-African members (United Nations and European Union) as international partners.

The finance minister represents the Western African sub-region on the board.

Ahmed expressed appreciation and commitment towards achieving the agenda of the special fund.

It was learnt that the protocol relating to the African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC) provides for the establishment of a special fund to be known as the “peace fund”.

This fund comes with the objective of providing the necessary financial resources for peace support missions and other operational activities related to it in Africa.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
