Real Madrid star breaks down in tears after injury against Ajax in UCL (photos)

Real Madrid youngster Vinícius Júnior on Tuesday night, March 5, broke down in tears after sustaining an injury against Ajax in the Champions League round of 16 encounter.

The 18-year-old Brazilian star was hauled off the pitch and replaced with Marco Asensio after just 36 minutes at the Bernabeu.

Vinicius Junior injured his right leg after he fired a shot from close range into the side netting in the match his side went on to lose.

He was in a sad mood after the injury as he slowly made his way off the pitch and towards the dugout.

Although the nature of his injury has not been revealed by Real Madrid, but there are reports that the forward could be out of action for a longer period.

Real Madrid were the firm favorites after their 2-1 win in the first-leg, but the Dutch side dominated the tie to pull off a stunning win.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Real Madrid were on Tuesday night, March 5, bundled out of the 2018/19 Champions League competition after losing against Ajax at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This will be the first time since 2009/10 that Real Madrid will be out of the Champions League without reaching the last four.

Ajax hadn't even qualified for the Champions League for the past four seasons, and the last time they even reached the last 16 of the competition was 13 years ago.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
