Paroll service: Account general issues fresh warninig to ministries, agencies

- The accountant general of the federation, Ahmed Idris, has issued a fresh waning to ministries, departments and agencies

- The AGF said ministries, departments and agencies should move their payroll to Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System

- AGF Idris also warned that agencies or departments that failed to comply mst be ready to face consequence of action

The ministries, departments and agencies under the federal government have been mandated to move their payroll to the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) or face the immediate consequences.

The order was given by the accountant general of the federation, Ahmed Idris, in a statement signed by the head of press and public relations to the AGF, Oise D. Johnson, Daily Independent reports.

Johnson said the AGF gave the order when he hosted the acting inspector-general of police, Abubakar Adamu.

He said: “MDAs yet to comply with president’s directive to move their payroll to the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS), should do so or be ready for the consequences of their action, as the Treasury House will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that Mr President’s directive is fully complied with.

''I want to place on record that the Nigeria Police have fully been integrated into the IPPIS platform and their successful enrollment has paved way for the enrollment of the Nigerian military, which has further demonstrated the robustness of the platform and our avowed commitment to a transparent, accountable and efficient management of the nation’s funds in line with global best practices.''

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the federal government on Thursday, January 17, said up to five million new jobs would be created in a fresh $1.1bn agricultural loan project with the Brazilian government.

Nigeria-Brazil bilateral project Green Imperative was the reason the federal government was seeking to borrow the funds. The project was launched at the Presidential Villa by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
