Osinbajo and wife cast votes in Lagos

- Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and wife, Dolapo, have cast their votes in Lagos

- The vice president and wife voted at Polling Unit 33,Victoria Garden City (VGC)

- Osinbajo urged Nigerians to continue to support the Buhari government

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has voted at his Polling Unit 33,Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos, in the governorship and state house of assembly elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Osinbajo arrived at the unit alongside his wife, Dolapo, at 10:45 a.m. and voted at 10.55 a.m.

He expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct, adding that he was optimistic that more voters would turn out during the exercise.

The vice president urged Nigerians to continue to support the government in its plan to take the country to the “Next Level”.

Osinbajo said: “I think we have all that we require to make this country truly great. For me, all of us must work together across tribes and religions.

“We must come together to work with President Muhammadu Buhari and the government to achieve the best we can for this country.”

NAN reports that voting was delayed at the polling unit as the ad-hoc officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not arrive until 9.13am.

Voting eventually began at about 10.30am as the residents waited patiently to exercise their civic responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Senate President Bukola Saraki has cast his votes in the Saturday, March 9 governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

The Senate president exercised his civic duty at Polling Unit 005/006 Agbaji Quarters, Ajikobi Ward, Ilorin West LGA, Kwara state.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
