Massive victory for APGA as party wins 24 out of 30 seats in Anambra Assembly

- 24 of the 30 seats in the Anambra state House of Assembly has been won by the All Progressives Grand Alliance

- The results were announced in the 30 constituencies in the state

- Tony Nezianya, media aide to Governor Willie Obiano, said the people of Anambra had shown that that they were happy with what the governor was doing across the state

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has won 24 of the 30 seats in the Anambra state House of Assembly, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won six seats.

The speaker of the Anambra state House of Assembly, Mrs Rita Maduagwu, was defeated in her bid to retain her position. She lost to the PDP candidate, NAN reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Leo Nkedife, head, voter education and publicity, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Awka, confirmed the results on Sunday, March 10 in Awka.

Nkedife said that the results were announced in the 30 constituencies in the state.

The PDP won in Anaocha I state constituency of Peter Obi, the vice presidential candidate of the PDP.

PDP also won in Ogbaru I, Ogbaru II, Ekwusigo, Onitsha North I and Nnewi South II state constituencies, while APGA won in the other constituencies.

Tony Nezianya, media aide to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra said the performance of APGA in the state Assembly elections was reaffirmation on Obiano’s quality service to the state.

He said he was not surprised that APGA almost cleared all the seats, as the people were willing to prove that they were happy with what the governor was doing across the state.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the Nigerian Air Force deployed helicopters for aerial surveillance in Anambra state the March 9 House of Assembly and National Assembly supplementary elections.

The Anambra state government advised residents of the state not to panic as the deployment was part of the measures by security operatives to curb electoral troubles in the state.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
