Man United chiefs reveal ‘special gift’ for Solskjaer after PSG defeat in UCL

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has moved a step close to being named Manchester United manager on a permanent basis after PSG defeat in the Champions League.

The Daily Mail claim the 46-year-old Solskjaer will be handed the managerial role at United on a full-time basis, and the big question is when the will the Norwegian be confirmed for the job.

The Red Devils massive Champions League result at Parc des Princes on Wednesday night sealed the job for Solskjaer, who has turned around the club’s fortune since replacing Jose Mourinho as interim manager mid-December.

Solskjaer and United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward held talks on Wednesday morning at the club’s hotel in Paris and also has private discussions with co-chairman Avram Glazer moments after the match.

Already, Solskjaer’s teammate Gary Neville hinted that the Norwegian tactician could be named during the forthcoming international break, but Red Devils chiefs insist they are not in hurry to make it public.

However, despite not making any statement while posing for selfies with fans at the airport in Paris, squad members are convinced Solskjaer will emerge permanent manager.

“I think it has been decided,” said striker Romelu Lukaku. “I think he is going to get it = he should get it. When we've won at Tottenham, Chelsea away, at Arsenal in the FA Cup, now this, what else does he have to do?”

At the last count, Solskjaer has guided United to 14 wins in 17 games since arriving on loan from Molde, with one defeat, as United reached the quarter-finals stage of the Champions League, FA Cup alongside a top four contender in the Premier League.

“I don't think I need to say much after all these results - it looks certain,” said defender Luke Shaw. “We all love Ole and we love the job he's done so far.

“We're enjoying everything that's going on at the moment and the results have shown that.”

Interestingly, United players could not stop chanting Solskjaer's name after the win in Paris, and the celebrations continued aboard the plane after he allowing them to have a beer.

Early in the week, Solskjaer revealed that his Molde deah had expired, even as the Norwegian club reached a verbal agreement with interim boss Erling Moe to take full charge.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID.
