Liverpool star reveals when Premier League title race with Man City will be decided

- Virgil Van Dijk believes the winner of the fight for the title will emerge on the last day

- The league has now become a two horse race between Liverpool and Manchester City

- Liverpool are leading City with two points but the Manchester side have a game at hand

Virgil Van Dijk is confident that the tile race between and Manchester City will be decided on the last matchday.

The Reds are in contention for the Premier League trophy this season since they last won it 29 years ago.

Liverpool are two points clear at the top having played one game more than their closest rival Manchester City.

Van Dijk has been in excellent form this season and his contributions has helped Jurgen Klopp's defence become the best in English topflight, since his arrival from Southampton for a world-record £75million fee in January 2018.

When the Dutchman was asked which trophy he would prefer between the Premier League and the Champions League this season he could not help but lean towards the title.

"Would I sooner win the Premier League or Champions League? I can't choose," he told the Premier League Show.

"But the Premier League would be something special.

“This year, because the race is so tight it says a lot about the quality of our team if we do it.

“If not, then we should keep our heads high and try again, but that's something we're not focusing on right now."

Liverpool will be hoping their bitter rivals Manchester United will do them a favour at Old Trafford when they play the Citizens in late April.

City are still in the race to four titles this season and Van Dijk has made a prediction about when the title race for the league may be over.

"That's the unlucky bit for us, that they [Man City] have been fantastic throughout the whole season," van Dijk added.

"We have been doing in the league fantastically as well.

“It's something good for people that love football to see.

“I have a feeling it well go right to the end. We will give everything we have and they will too."

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
