The five players withdrew from international duty with their respective countries, making them major doubts for the EPL encounter against the Hornets.

Both Rashford and Jesse Lingard played no part in England's Euro 2020 qualifiers where they faced Czech Republic and Montenegro, with Rashford pulling out with an ankle injury.

On his part, Martial has been nursing a knee injury that has been recurrent, but joined the rest of his team-mates at Lowry Hotel ahead of the weekend tie.

Both Matic and Shaw suffered knocks that ruled them out of international action.

Lukaku's foot injury has been a source of concern for United, with the Belgian remaining a doubt for the Saturday fixture despite taking part in Friday's training at Carrington.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer has since confirmed Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia will be unavailable for selection against Watford.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club's manager on permanent capacity on a three-year deal.

Solskjaer has been manager on interim basis replacing Jose Mourinho who was sacked in December 2018.

Since returning to Old Trafford, Solskjaer has won 14 of his 19 games in charge, losing just three times.
