The APC faulted INEC for announcing that collation for 17 local governments areas (LGA) had been concluded when the records provided by its situation room showed otherwise.

It alleged that the electoral commission refused to name the said 17 LGAs where it claimed collation had been concluded.

The Rivers APC also questioned why INEC dropped four LGA collation officers alleged to be PDP card-carrying members without making clarification about the status of the LGA results from the four ad hoc personnel supposedly collated.

INEC is up to some mischief clearly pointing to a clear determination to rig the overall result of the March 9 elections in favour of Gov Wike and the PDP,” the Rivers APC stated.

“The signs are visible enough to the blind and loud enough to the deaf. All the shenanigans so far exhibited by INEC only go to confirm that fear."

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed reasons the collation of results of the Rivers state governorship election which held on Saturday, March 9 was stopped.

Channel TV reports that the INEC national commissioner, Mohammed Haruna, said the electoral body was forced to stop the counting of votes and announcement of the results over what he described as a problem at the commission’s office in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Legit.ng gathered that he explained that before the decision to postpone the announcement of results, INEC had met with security agencies over the matter.
