Hilarious reactions as Lagos restaurant sells 'luxury amala' for N6,500 (photos)

Social media has been thrown into a frenzy after photos of a plate of amala and ewedu soup being sold for a whooping N6,500 at a restaurant in Lagos.

One of the major reasons the Yoruba delicacy pair popularly known as Amala and ewedu is accepted nationwide is its delicious taste. The second reason is the fact that it is relatively affordable and can be easily gotten anywhere.

Well, it's either there is an alien invasion or capitalism has claimed the better part of some people's brain because a certain Lagos restaurant known as Warehouse Kitchen, for some reasons have decided to put a ridiculously high amount on the popular amala and ewedu meal as each plate goes for N6,500.

As expected, the post caused quite a stir on social media as many people thought it ridiculous to put such a high price on something that can be easily gotten anywhere and deliciously so too.

See reactions below:

In all of the this, the question on the lips of almost everyone is; what kind of people would actually pay N6,500 for a plate of amala and ewedu. Perhaps the likes of DJ Cuppy and her billionaire father would probably see no problem splashing such an amount on a plate of the local delicacy.

Meanwhile, as bizarre as it sounds, a Twitter user identified as @pyhsioniyii got his heart broken simply because he consumed his meal a tad bit too enthusiastically.

According to his tweet, his girlfriend broke up with him simply because he ate his meal of amala and ewedu with his fingers (the conventional way) rather than use a spoon (a method considered classy and posh) like she did.
