Governor Ahmed speaks as APC wins Kwara governorship election

Kwara state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has congratulated the governor-elect, Alhaji Abdulrasak Abdulrahman after he was declared the winner of the governorship election held on Saturday, March 9.

Governor Ahmed declared that Abdulrasak’s emergence is a manifestation of Kwarans’ resolve to give democracy a chance and allow another leadership to serve them.

In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, the governor advised the APC to justify the confidence reposed in it by the electorate, Daily Trust reports.

Ahmed, however, thanked Kwarans and the PDP members for their hard work during the elections and the opportunity given to him to serve his fatherland as governor.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that wara governor-elect, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of the APC, on Sunday, March 10, declared that the people of the state have been free from bondage and socioeconomic stagnation.

Abdulrazaq dedicated his victory to the glory of God and to all the people of the state.

He saluted all the heroes of the struggle, including all those who paid the supreme sacrifice and prayed their souls rest in perfect peace. He commended party members, leaders at the local, state and national levels for their sterling efforts and contributions to this victory.

Abdulrazak also thanked traditional rulers for their fatherly roles and commended the security agencies, electoral officers and other stakeholders who performed their duties creditably.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
